The peregrine falcon is part of the chordata phylum and the vertebrata subphylum. The peregrine falcon maintains a one way flow of air so it can breathe while flying. The peregrine falcon has two small lungs, where gas exchange occurs. These lungs are joined by air sacs, which keep the lungs inflated. The falcon's lungs receive a constant supply of air during both inhalation and exhalation. Also, the peregrine falcon has nostrils which regulates breathing at high speeds.
