The Caenorhabditis elegans does not have a respiratory system because it does not have any organs that are directly associated with respiration. They have skin that is permeable so that oxygen can join with the mucus on the skin. Then the oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air diffuse with the skin so it can enter the body. Once the oxygen gets in the body it goes directly into the blood stream and oxygenates the blood.
