The blue whale is part of the chordata phylum and the vertebrata subphylum. The blue whale has a lung that can hold their breath for 20 minutes. The blue whales breathes by emitting a "blow" through it's blowhole. A blowhole is the nostril of a whale. The blowhole acts as a passage to the trachea where air fills the lungs. The blue whale has two blowholes.
